On a foggy and rainy morning LUCIE went out for the first time this season for her shake down sail and to test some of the latest improvements to her rigging. It also was the first opportunity to tune some of her new sails and start the process of hands-on preparation for the trip to the 6mR Worlds in Germany. Neither LUCIE nor any of the crew seemed to mind the rather misty weather and absolutely everything worked to expectation – a great success for the first test run – almost too good!
So the first few sails are “approved” for the Worlds and are now drying out back at the Baltic Boat Works shop – hanging from the ceiling in front of the mast rack. The next round of trials will involve the heavier sails and will be used for some crew training – waiting for the right weather window again…
