Spring catch up

IMG_2873

Team LUCIE had a busy spring – LUCIE got launched in Newport in early May to test some new rigging and a set of new sails, get the crew back into the groove and LUCIE into shape for this years trip to Europe. And after only three weeks it was then time to haul out again, pack up and make the journey to the UK for this years 6 Metre European Championship.

All training sessions in Newport were successful, the crew was very happy with LUCIE and looking at the pictures it seems that LUCIE was happy too.

The shipping to Europe almost becomes routine now, though it does not make it less of an effort: haul the boat, pack the spars, get every possible piece of spare part ready and packed, many, many phone calls and emails to organize a smooth transport over land and seas and again over land – and then traveling there and putting it all back together.

So as of this writing LUCIE is already in Falmouth UK, she is already launched and fully rigged, all crew arrived to the UK on Wednesday and we are ready for the British Open later this week and the 6 Metre European Championship next week. We will go out for the first trial sail in Falmouth waters tomorrow – stayed tuned for (almost) daily updates now.
